Steve Sloan
Architect

While Steve's professional career began almost twenty years ago, his passion for software development began as a young boy, writing simple BASIC programs on one of the first 8-bit home computers, and building "web sites" that pre-date the web itself. Over the years his experience has expanded to include development in the desktop, embedded, and web spaces, with a focus on complex algorithms and building scalable and maintainable systems. He is adept at open source software and agile development processes, and is nearly fanatical about Ruby, Rails, and emerging database technologies.

Before joining Conceivian, Steve worked with a variety of technology companies of various sizes, from giants like Sony Electronics and Amazon.com, to medium-sized development shops and a handful of adventurous start-ups.

Steve holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Washington State University. In his free time he contributes to various open source and personal software projects and plays drums in a progressive rock band.
